The Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in the development and improvement of innovative cooking range appliances. As an integral part of the product design and engineering team, the Structural Engineer ensures that the company's cooking range products meet customer needs and expectations while adhering to safety standards and quality control guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and development: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies, and apply them to create innovative cooking range designs.

  • Design and engineering: Develop detailed design specifications, including dimensions, materials, and components, for cooking range structures, ensuring that they meet safety standards, functionality, and aesthetic requirements.

  • Prototyping and testing: Build and test prototypes of cooking range structures to evaluate their performance, safety, and efficiency. Make necessary adjustments based on test results to improve the design.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers to develop cooking range appliances that meet market demands, cost targets, and production requirements.

  • Manufacturing support: Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling for the production of cooking range structures. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that the designs can be produced efficiently and with consistent quality.

  • Quality control: Establish and maintain quality control standards for cooking range structures, ensuring that finished products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure that cooking range structures meet all applicable local, national, and international regulations, including safety and environmental standards.

  • Technical documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, such as design specifications, assembly instructions, and user manuals, to support production, installation, and maintenance activities. 

  • Project management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that cooking range structure development projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Continuous improvement: Regularly review and analyze the performance of existing cooking range structures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement necessary changes to enhance their performance, efficiency, and safety.


Position Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field is typically required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline may be preferred or advantageous for some positions.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in the appliance or consumer goods industry, with a focus on cooking range structures or similar products.

  • Technical skills: Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA) for designing and drafting cooking range structures. SIEMENS NX Preferred.  Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools (such as FEA or CFD) to evaluate structural performance, safety, and efficiency.  Sheet metal fabrication experience.
    Perform tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and similar analysis as necessary.

  • Knowledge of industry standards: Familiarity with ANSI Z21.1, UL 858 and other international regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines related to cooking range appliances.

  • Manufacturing knowledge: Understanding of Sheet Metal design and fabrication, manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling, along with experience working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.

  • Project management skills: Ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Problem-solving abilities: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve design, development, and manufacturing challenges.

  • Communication and teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, product managers, and manufacturing personnel.

  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of the cooking range structure design meet safety, functionality, and aesthetic requirements.

  • Continuous improvement mindset: A commitment to continually reviewing and improving existing cooking range structures and processes to enhance product performance, efficiency, and safety.
